Tim is in the forefront of the new generation breathing fresh life into
English traditional music. After a sensational show with his band in
Marlborough in 2008 he returns for a solo concert, which will feature

Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham are simply the best Scottish traditional musicians. Aly, a subtle and tuneful fiddler, has recently come to the public eye as the host of televised Transatlantic Sessions, featuring the best British and American musicians. From his early days with the acclaimed ‘Silly Wizard’, Phil has become a composer, producer, TV presenter and has even won a Grammy award. Theirs is instrumental music of the highest quality

Salisbury Folk

 

BOSCOMBE VILLAGE SOCIAL CLUB
After a very successful trial run at the Boscombe Village Social Club, it has been decided to retain this as the venue for Bourne Folk club nights for the coming season.

The management and staff at the Club have made every effort to look after us, and everyone has gone out of their way to make us welcome The club is on the main A338 Salisbury-Marlborough road and is situated on the left hand side just before the village
of Allington.

There is a car park and a fully stocked bar.

Winner of two BBC Folk Awards 2009 – The Horizon Award for best new comer & Best Traditional Track Award
Top 10 on the Mojo album of the year chart 2008
Jackie Oates is a singer and fiddle player hailing from Staffordshire. Her unique treatment of English ballads and songs, and pure, haunting singing style has attracted increasing attention.

Since appearing as a finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2003, she has performed extensively at festivals and folk clubs across the country, in a solo capacity and with a number of bands. She was a founder member of Northumbrian group and Mercury nominated Rachel Unthank and the Winterset until early 2007, and has since guested with Van Eyken, the Reg Meuross Band and Show of Hands
